FULL-LENGTH PLAYS
SLOW BURN
Comedy (90min; 2F/4M/1NB)
“You never give up hope, not even when your mom sold you to Harry Styles to pay off the Russian mob.”
A college freshman has a secret side hustle: writing commissioned fanfics on tumblr about the world-famous YA fantasy series, THE COURT OF COPPERFIELD. She pens magical adventures and pulse-quickening romances with the series’ dreamy male leads, who also operate as her personal Greek chorus on her transition into adulthood. But no amount of writing can prepare her for when she falls for a real 18-year-old guy…one who just, like, doesn’t know his lines? Meanwhile, her roommate explores their gender identity through reading fics, and finds a writer who just gets them—seriously, why does tumblr user “HolyHoudiniBatman” seem so familiar? A Gen-Z comedy about fandom life, first times, and the gender of it all.

LOVE INTEREST
Dark Comedy (120min; 3F/5M)
“Myself and everyone on the TCEU Team stand with women. And girls. And the uh…what is the term? The they-them individuals? We stand with those individuals as well.”
Dawn is the leather-clad, femme fatale star of the Twister Comics Cinematic Universe (TCEU)’s latest franchise of superhero films, and just wants one gig where she doesn’t have to kiss a coworker. Nadia is an up-and-coming pop-star who wants to make the leap into acting, and will do whatever it takes to get there—even if she has to do it the old-fashioned way. Annie is an aspiring entertainment reporter with a lot of dumb luck, who definitely should’ve paid more attention in her Ethics of Journalism class. A dark comedy about three women and the men surrounding them in the new, “socially-conscious” entertainment industry, and how they navigate public image, personal sacrifice, and the ways being part of a massive superhero film franchise forces them to confront their place in the universe—and also, thirst Tweets.

Jane, a 25-year-old copy editor from Atlanta, suffers from a laundry list of mental disorders. In a questionable move to aid her recovery, Jane’s boyfriend volunteers her to appear on The Broken Brain Breakup Game—the only game show where contestants confront and "break up" with the devastating mental disorders holding them down. Join Jane and our beloved host, the Doctor (medical license-pending), as we learn whether Jane'll ditch her mental baggage for good, or if this is the end of the line for her relationship with her beau.

SHORT PLAYS
THE HALF-LIVES OF DIGITAL STARS
Dark Comedy (30min; 2M/1F)
“That’s easy for you to say. You got the Audible spons. And here I am, still slumming it with NordVPN.”
If a washed-up, queer-baiting YouTube has-been dies of acute radiation poisoning in the green room of the Hilton Orlando and no one is around to like, comment, and subscribe—did they ever make a sound?
Development:
Reading, East Village Basement (prod. Personal Pizza Party), 2024.
THE FAIRY RING
Dark Comedy (15min; 3 any)
“I drink Shamrock Shakes because they hit, not because I’m a fairy!”
After losing out on the internship of a lifetime, Rowan decides it’s time for Plan Z: fleeing society altogether. How, might you ask? Getting herself kidnapped by fairies, because that makes about as much sense as anything else at this point, doesn’t it? A comedic fable exploring the relationship between elitism, mental illness, and classism and how we use fantasy to cope.
Development:
Reading, TheaterLab (prod. Personal Pizza Party), 2023.
MOMMY
Dramedy (20min; 1F/1M)
“It’s just, I have this impulse? To call you—”
Wendy has been labeled as the “mom friend” her entire life; it’s a title that chases her everywhere – even, as she comes to discover, to the bedroom. A painful-yet-comedic memory play exploring how masculine perceptions paint female bodies and change how women come to identify and relate to themselves.

IN-DEVELOPMENT
(neither of these are real yet; they’re here to publically shame me into finishing them)
RUMSFELD PARADOX
Drama (?; 2F/2M)
“Benny Bright was your life, not just your job. What’s left of you now that he’s gone?”
On the first anniversary of his suicide, those closest to the deceased frontman of the world’s biggest boy band reunite to honor his memory. But how do you eulogize someone you never really let die? A play-with-music that investigates para-social relationships, professional co-dependence, and who really has the right to grieve.
GOSSIP GHOULS (WORKING TITLE)
Farce (?min; 3F/2M)
“I mean not to assume, but she looks like someone who uses…plastic sporks.”
After the death of one of their own, a clique of wealthy Upper East Siders must fill the gap she left behind or risk of demonic punishment, supernatural torture, and even (gasp) plummeting ratings. But finding someone to agree to life as the “funny fat friend” proves more difficult than expected, and begs the question of which is more painful: getting your eyes pecked out by a reanimated crow with the unholy voice of Lucifer himself, or making friends with a financial aid student?
If you like any of these blurbs (or, even better, want to give me dollars to finish one), let me know!
